Use cases

Windsurf AI for parallel work.

The goal of Windsurf IDE is to help you supervise several pieces of development work at once. These example workflows explain the intended experience; they are not customer results or measured productivity claims.

Build a feature across the stack

Give one agent an API task and another a UI task. Keep the two scopes visible in separate panes, compare the resulting changes, then run the integration checks yourself. A shared window should help you spot a dependency before it becomes a merge conflict.

Keep implementation and review distinct

Let an implementation Bot propose the patch and a reviewer examine the diff. Separate roles make the question clearer: does the change meet the requirements, and what remains unverified? The developer still decides what to accept.

Work on several branches

Use separate worktrees for a feature and a bug fix. The planned workspace keeps the branch, session, and local preview close together, so switching tasks does not mean guessing which folder or port belongs to which piece of work.

Return to a long-running task

A remote development machine can be useful for work that outlasts a laptop session. Windsurf is exploring the Termany approach to remote panes and session context. The app release will define which reconnection and history behaviors are supported.

A practical loop: scope, run, inspect.

Start with a small, testable task and a clear owner. Follow the agent’s progress, inspect its files and diff, and verify the outcome in the project. Repeatable Bots are intended to preserve useful instructions, not remove the need for human judgment.
